Corner Stone maintains an extensive safety program. Our priority is to make sure our employees return home safe each day by utilizing our philosophy of prevention not detection. We accomplish this through training, empowerment, and support. Safety is not just one person’s job, but all of ours as a team.
Our employees are subject to random drug screening throughout their employment to ensure the safe working environment that all of our employees deserve. All new hire employees are required to go through a post offer physical examination. This is to confirm that each employee is capable of doing the work expected of them and that they are not put in an unsafe situation that may affect their well being.
Training for safety begins the first day of employment and is ongoing throughout each employee’s career. All superintendents working for Corner Stone are required to take the OSHA 30 hour class and remain certified. All other workers that may be in a decision making role are required a minimum of the OSHA 10 hour class. All of our workers routinely participate in ongoing safety training such as forklift operation, scaffold erection and operation, ergonomics on the jobsite, silica protection and awareness, rigging, personal protective equipment, and much more. Weekly “toolbox talks” are conducted on each jobsite to not only provide an open forum for discussion of any safety issues, but also to continue on going safety education.
